The star has donated the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to preserve the United Kingdom's small music venues.

He was presented with the prize on mid-October as his new release the album was named the top album of the last 12 months.

The musician has chosen to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages played in his initial steps.

"I couldn't be pursuing what I am doing today if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the North East, and further afield, when I was just getting going," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."

Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these locations have ceased operations – roughly 16% of the total UK scene.

Recently, well-known musicians such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the trust in its attempts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their admission fees, which supports smaller concert halls.

He also participated, collecting over £100k on his recent tour to support thirty-eight small stages across Britain.

The money assisted venues that were facing possible closure due to challenges caused by flooding, blazes and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, court cases and sound issues.

Additional spaces received funding support in upgrading amenities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.

"The concept that funds from shows in large arenas helps the independent spots, where it begins for performers like me, is just logical," Fender has said.

The musician is not the first artist to contribute his honor funds to worthy causes.

When the band received the trophy in the year 1996 for their record Different Class, lead singer the singer declared that the group would contribute their cash to the non-profit the charity.

During 2002, musician the artist divided her bounty across several organizations, including the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"Additionally, I gave a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to a publication.

In recent years, they contributed their prize money to the youth organization that developed their band, alongside other grassroots music organisations.

And 1994 winners they gave their award to a multiple sclerosis charity after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.

"Winning was sufficient," said vocalist Small. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't need the extra, because we had the main prize. So our victory touched the lives of others."

Recently, the MVT announced it had rescued a couple of local spots in the South East, by bringing them into local control.

One venue in the city and The Croft in that location were purchased under the community ownership program, which is backed by the arts council and supporters who purchase "stakes" in the properties.
